from FALMOUTH Pier: Martha Brae Rafting & Historical Falmouth Tour

Shore Excursion Description

Your trip begins at the cruise pier as you make your way through the Jamaican countryside from Montego Bay to Martha Brae. Although the purpose of this transfer is to take you to the site of the rafting trip, the ride along the coastline will take you through small towns and allow you to truly see how interesting Jamaica is. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, or visit the small plant nursery…learn about the fever grass and its many uses!

The rafting trip down this 3-mile stretch of the well-known Martha Brae is one of the most exhilarating in Jamaica. The journey takes about 90 minutes on the long, 2 person bamboo rafts poled by your skilled guide. The upper reaches tumble at a good pace before slowing farther down river where you stop at “Tarzan’s Corner” for a swing and a swim in a calm pool.

After the relaxation of the Martha Brae river, reboard your bus for the short ride back to Falmouth where you get to tour this Historic Town.

Visit the old Georgian Building, Water Square, the Old Port, St. Peter’s Anglican Church which was built in 1796, and the old Courthouse, built in 1817; this was once regarded as one of the finest structures in Jamaica. You may spend some time shopping before its time to return to the ship.
